الملخص

يعد التدخين مشكلة صحية عامة متزايدة عالمياً، كما يعدّ مسؤولاً عن مجموعة واسعة من الأمراض القلبية والدماغية والتنفسية والسرطانية ويشكل عبئاً على الفرد والمجتمع. هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تحديد مستوى المعرفة المتعلقة بالمخاطر الصحية للتدخين لدى طلاب جامعة الكوت في محافظة واسط بالعراق. أُجريت دراسة مقطعية في الفترة ما بين 1شباط و 30نيسان من العام الدراسي 2024، وشملت 300 طالب من جامعة الكوت بمختلف الكليات، حيث استُخدمت طريقة المعاينة الطبقية المنتظمة، وجُمعت البيانات باستخدام استبيان ذاتي التعبئة. أظهرت النتائج أن من بين 300 مشارك، 156 طالباً كانوا من المدخنين، وكانت نسبة انتشار التدخين أعلى بكثير بين الذكور مقارنة بالإناث (45.67 % ،  6.33% على التوالي)، كما أن غالبية المدخنين (63.3 %) بدأوا التدخين قبل سن العشرين، ومعظم المدخنين لديهن معرفة بارتباط التدخين بأمراض القلب، وسرطان الحنجرة، والسكتة الدماغية، وتأثيرات التدخين على سلامة الجلد. توصي الدراسة بدمج برامج التوعية الصحية حول مخاطر التدخين ضمن المناهج التعليمية.
