Self -confidence and its relationship to the motivation of achievement among the sixth-grade students in the city of Hama

Abstract

The current research goal is to try to identify the level of self -confidence and motivation for achievement among the sixth -grade students in the city of Hama, and to reveal the relationship between self -confidence and motivation for achievement, as well as identifying the differences in self -confidence and motivation for achievement according to the gender variable (male – female).

 

 The research sample consisted of (300) students who were chosen in a random way from the sixth -grade students in the city of Hama, and the self -confidence measure was used by Uthman (2014), and the motivation scale for achievement was prepared by Nassar (), and the descriptive research curriculum was approved.

 

 The results indicated that there is an average level of self -confidence and an average level of motivation for achievement among sixth -grade students, a positive correlation relationship statistically between self -confidence and motivation for achievement, and the presence of statistically significant differences between the average degrees of the sample personnel in self -confidence and motivation for achievement attributed to the gender variable for the benefit of females.
